Meet the Funder - Community Foundation for Greater Manchester

The Community Foundation currently manage 55 different funding programmes and give out grants to voluntary and community groups or projects in Greater Manchester. They awarded £245,829 in 61 grants to groups in Tameside in 2007/8.

Come along to find out more about their grant schemes, how to apply and the new Quality Standard for Funding.

Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council tendering opportunity

Expressions of interest to tender for the provision of 24 hour supported accommodation for people with mental health needs.

Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council, Neighbourhood and Community Services, Adult Services is committed to the provision of high quality services to enable people to live in their own homes. We are looking to contract with an organisation to:

• Provide social care and housing-related support within 24-hour supported accommodation, across three different sites, for 32 people with mental health needs

All documentation must be completed and submitted electronically by using Vault through BiPs Delta-ets by 8 August 2008 @ 12pm. Tender submission packs will follow week commencing 8 September 2008. The closing date for tender submissions for those organisations short-listed is 24 October 2008. Short-listed organisations will be invited to a presentation, week commencing 3 November 2008.

Prevention Opportunites Fund - set up by Tameside Council and the Primary Care Trust

Priorities/Aims: This funding will be used to provide grants for innovative and creative projects and activities that will support the Prevention Strategy and robust performance monitoring will enable learning for future developments in the borough.

Application Forms should be returned to Rachel Lund, who is Children's Development Manager at the PCT. Her email address is rachel.lund@nhs.net 

There will be two rounds of applications. This will allow the Children and Young People’s Strategic Partnership to engage with as many providers as possible, and will ensure that schools are not excluded from the process, the first round of which will take place largely over the school summer holidays. Applications for round one should be submitted by 16 July, with presentations made to the Joint Commissioning Executive on 5 August 2008.

Money has to be spent before 31 March 2009 and the funding will not continue after that date so you should not include any ongoing comittments in your applications.

The deadline for returning application forms is 16 July.
