Tameside Arts Network AGM
10 November, 8pm-9pm at
Stalybridge Civic Hall
The Tameside Arts Network exists to promote the work of Tameside artists
and arts organisations and put people in touch
with them. It now has a new logo and a website at
www.tamesideartsnetwork.org.uk,
which is well worth investigating. Any Tameside arts groups should send
details and news of events to
admin@tamesideartsnetwork.org.uk.
It would be great to see new faces at the AGM,
particularly people who would like to get involved.

Volunteer Reading Help, Greater Manchester Branch
is 10!
Friday 5 December, 10am - 12pm,
Ashton Town Hall, Etherow Lounge
Volunteer Reading Help (VRH) is a national
charity which recruits, trains, places and supports dedicated volunteers
to provide one-to-one, personalised
reading
support to children who find reading a struggle in schools and care
homes across the UK.
This December the Greater Manchester Branch is 10 years
old! We currently work with
around 90 dedicated volunteers who are supporting over 150 children across
44 schools and 10 care homes in Tameside, Manchester, Stockport and Oldham.
To celebrate the wonderful achievements of all our volunteers and the
children that they have worked with, we would like to extend a warm
invitation to all past volunteers and anyone who has been supported by a VRH
volunteer at school in the past to come and help us celebrate at our 10 Year
Celebrations. There will be a performance by Rod Dimbleby, Professional
Storyteller and the children of Linden Road Primary School followed by mince
pies and cake!
If you would like to attend or are interested in volunteering for Volunteer
Reading Help please contact Jane Lyth, Branch Administrator, on 0161 337
9016 or email,
gtrmanchester@vrh.org.uk

West Side Story
1- 6 December, Mossley Amateur
Operatic and Dramatic Society
West Side Story will
be the first musical to be repeated by the Society. Our first production
in 1987, became the most successful show in the history of the
prestigious Reporter Awards, and the 21st anniversary of that show
should prove that we have really come of age. The extremely strong and
talented cast for this breathtaking production will be under the
Direction of Martyn Preston & Michael Ward, Musical Direction by Mike
Bramhall and Choreography by Gary Jones.
Make a note in your Diary and book early to avoid disappointment.
