T3SC lunch and learn session - Diversity Development Work (Drugs and Alcohol Services)
27 August 2008, 12am –  2pm, at T3SC

The work within the Diversity Development post within Tameside over the years has had some direct impact on changing the lives of the Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) communities  it has served:

  • Community members that joined the work programme as volunteers or community champions have utilised the skills learnt to develop themselves personally and pursue further education for career development.

  • Drug users gained the confidence to access services with additional support and share their experiences with BME groups about drugs misuse.

  • Famlies and community members gained knowledge and understanding about substance misuse issues and how to deal with the challenging issues they face.

  • Networking and partnership working has provided stronger ties and understanding of the BME Communities needs and aspirations.

T3SC are holding a lunch and learn session to disseminate ‘what has worked’ and share good practice. If you are interested in substance misuse issues or a service provider around substance misuse then this will be a fantastic opportunity for you to lunch, learn and network with other like minded people.
